accessing tty4a under xenix

Hello, I have a question regarding the access of a device that
is the XENIX equivalent of COM4:. Basically while DOS can access
COM4 on my noname multifunction I/O board, there seems no documented
way of doing so under Xenix 2.3.2 unless I own an expensive multiport
board.
Does anybody know if this is possible ? my board is basically just
a 16450 with a couple of support chips .....
