Xenix and Tandon Addpack drive

Our SCO Xenix dealer has told us that Xenix/386 can't use the Addpack
removable hard disk drive of Tandon's 386-based PC (I've forgot the model
name), since Xenix' normal hard disk device driver can't handle it.

Is this true? If it is: has anyone already written a device driver (or
whatever it takes) for this drive, or know where we could obtain one?
And, besides that, why would the normal hard disk driver not work?

Please mail any answers, since I am going on a leave for 2 weeks on
Monday. I will sumarize any interesting responses (if there are any)
that are not also present in this group when i resume work.
