[ I know this has been discussed before... PLEASE E-MAIL responses.
I'll post a summary if there is enough interest..]
I would like to get a tape backup for my machines. It should be
external, and have a flexible cable/connector so that moving it from
machine to machine for backups won't kill it. (Call me cheap.. but
practical) It should also use standard DC-600A or whatever cartridges,
not some custom size mini-tape.
The machines are all AT bus machines, some 286, some 386. The drive
should work with SCO Xenix 2.2 and 2.3 without much hassle. (i.e.
they should work with dump/restore and tar/cpio) Also some sort or
mirror image backup is a must.
Throughput should be reasonable, and able to stream when doing a
mirror image, without backtracking.
Please e-mail any suggestions and or configurations.
Thanks a bunch!
