Altos tape drives and SCO XENIX

Has anyone had experience reading tapes made on an Altos T-series machine
(a 2086/XENIX 3.4b in particular) on other tape drives under SCO XENIX?
I am going to be involved in moving -lots- of data from a dying Altos 2086
to an SCO XENIX 2.3.2 box with a Caliper 150 meg tape drive. The Altos tapes
are 60 meg, and this could be a problem to begin with if the Caliper won't
even read 60 meg tapes. Any experience anyone has had with the compatibilty
(or lack thereof) of Altos 60 meg tapes with any drives (like other standard
60 meg drives like Archive or Wangtek) would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.
