gcc question

I've been using gcc since the patches were posted, and it is working
quite well, but I have one question. Often when compiling source code
taken from the net or elsewhere (for example, mush) the Microsoft
option -Fo<xxxx.o> is added to each compile line. It doesn't occur
with every package I compile, but it is consistent within a package;
that is, it shows up consistently regardless of what I do. GCC just
ignores it with a warning, so it's no big deal, but it is annoying and
I'm curious. Why is this happening?


Also, has anyone done the g++ port?
