I have been stuffing a FORTRAN program into f77 on a Unix VII machine.
(Sorry about the FORTRAN. That's how I got the program, and
I'm not about to rewrite it!) f77 gives no hint of errors, but
after several minutes of thought, ld says "local symbol botch"
and the Unix prompt appears. ld gives NO HINT as to what has
caused the problem.

Has anyone seen this error message? What might it mean?

This program runs well and quickly on our Cyber 76.

George
