From: Ed Fox <fox.vpi at rand-relay>

At Virginia Tech Dept. of CS we are thinking of tying together an 11/44
running UNIX, 1-2 SUN workstations running 4.2, an 11/780 running VMS,
another 780 running 4.2, Imagen laser printer, 50 terminals, and various
other micros and misc. devices. We have several questions and wonder if
people can direct us to specific sources of software or information:
1) If terminals do char. i/o is there a way to connect to ether rather than
directly to a CPU, so people can have flexibility and reliability connecting.
2) Can we gateway to Sytek broadband university wide net?
3) Since Wollongong and Compion TCP/IP for VMS are not possible for us now,
  are there other suppliers?
4) Would it be easy to connect IBM PC, DEC Rainbow or Pro running XENIX?
I look forward to your reply. Sincerely, Ed Fox.
