UNIX and PC public domain software info wanted

Info needed on software that is available in the public domain or free or for
a nominal charge for UNIX and for the IBM PC (or clones).  Is there a directory
or some centralized listing which can be consulted?  Any info on compiled
lists, or any info on any public domain software welcomed.  If I get enough
of a response, and the info received does not say not to, i will post a
summary.  Please respond by electronic mail wherever possible.
