As Mark Callow points out, that's hardly UNIX-like. As a matter
of fact, it postively makes me cringe. How about
hang mytape
(instructs operator to hang tape labelled "mytape",
read-only, drive-selectable speed)
hang -w mytape
(put a write ring in)
hang -w -s 800 mytape
(put a write ring in, and mount for 800bpi)
There. I feel much better now.
(DON'T tell me about "dd". I don't like it either.)
