	Your best bet might be to get LaTeX. It's a set of TeX macros,
it's free, and supposedly you can define arbitrary layouts (in your case
on the molecule level) and piece them together. If you don't have LaTeX/TeX
you can get it from mackay at uw-june (they charge an $85 duplication and
administration fee for the tape, or you can get it by anonomous ftp) and
I believe there is a driver for the XEROX. TeX is fairly easy to put up
(at least under 4.2), and it seems to be what you are looking for.
