No, 4.17 requires at least 3.5 petabytes (peta == 10**15, by the way) for
the kernel.  There is good news, though!  The new 4.17 C shell (which
incorporates three different window managers, two TCP/IP implementations,
a graphics package for the Sun 357, and several thousand new features)
will actually fit in only a terabyte.  The manual page for cat(1) has
been condensed (by using 6-point type) so that it only weighs three pounds
despite a few dozen new options.  And the distribution tapes only fill a
single moving van at 6757600000 bpi.
