According to the (preliminary) manual I have for the beast, a
datasouth DS-220 is supposed to be able to have alternative character
set down-loaded into it, which character set will be stored in
non-volitile ram.
No instructions on use of this feature are given in the version of
the manual which I have. Has anyone actually found this feature to
exist, and how to use it? I would appreciate a _mail_ reply from
anyone who can explain the use of this feature.
I also wonder if anyone has hacked a version of "col" that will make
a point of _not_ losing some set of escape sequences that do
wonderful things on their printer. If not, I may wind up hacking a
special version that will recognise and pass through a set of escape
sequences to be defined by a table. If no one else has done it, and
I wind up doing it (after the 7129 other things on the list), I'll
post any results to mod.sources.
