Dbase/Unix Problems

I've been working with Dbase II on the ATT 3b2 Unix system. Several problems
keep jumping up:
- the str() function as used in dos on my
Osborne's dBase II generates syntax errors
- Unexpected returns seem to be generated in
called sub-programs, i.e. you say 'do program'
and program may have a nested if, with a DO WHILE
loop inside it followed by additional statements.
After finishing the DO WHILE loop, or a nested if
statement inside the DO WHILE loop, the program
returns to the calling program without touching
any of the following statements.
Anybody who can offer suggestions for work arounds, or why this is doing what
it's doing.... You're comments would be appreciated.
Does anybody know of a published list of bugs for the Unix implementation of
dBASE? Every serious data base program I've worked with (except for the cp/m &
DOS pc world varieties) includes such information as 'Release Notes'.
Thanks in advance,
