The initial deadline for abstracts is quickly approaching, hence I thought
a reposting would be in order for those who have not seen this before.
For those at Universities and Companies doing OS research, I would appreciate
your posting this CFP internally.

Call for Papers and Referees
Special Issue of Computer Magazine
on Recent Developments in Operating Systems
The scope and breadth of Operating Systems research and commercial systems
has changed markedly over the past few decades. Architectural changes such
as multi-processing, user-interfaces such as windowning environments,
high-speed networks providing for distributed systems have all made their
mark. These and other chnages have not only changed the way in which the
user interacts with the system, but our view of what na Operating System is
and what functions it must perform. The May, 1990 issue of Computer
magazine will be devoted to examining the driving forces in the field, as
well as historical perspectives and future directions.
Manuscripts that are tutorial, survey, descriptive, case-study, applications-
oriented or pedagogic in nature are immediately sought in the following and
related areas:
o Distributed systems o File Systems
o Multi-processor systems o Performance Evaluation
o Real Time Systems o Reliability
o Security and Privacy o Virtual Memory
o Workstations o Future Trends
