Spectrum capabilities

We have been offered a very good deal on a HP Spectrum machine.
We're not impressed by MIP figures vs $$'s, MTBF etc....
We're a CS departmenet with an obvious academic leaning.
The questions can be very philosophical:

1) How well do they integrate into your "standard" berkeley environment?
2) Do you run NFS? on the Spectrum? Have you been promised it?
3) Do you view them as time-sharing machines, file servers, computational
	servers etc..
4) What is your configuration of your Spectrum?
5) What kind of maintenace do you have?
6) What else did you look at?
7) What does it "feel" like in terms of the environment? 4.x or SysV?

I would encourage email to these questions.

Thanks,
