I have been told by ATTIS that this is considered a bug and will be
fixed in a future release. So I guess it's Not Necessarily Not Necessarily
a bug :-) Thank you ATTIS (and Guy Harris for pointing the same way.)

P.S. that is, you can fix your shell or at least consider workarounds
temporary (#ifdef NOTNECESSARILY....) The shell fix is trivial (if you
have sources.)
