Trb's right. It does suck! But the recreational aspect is not important.
I would guess that the compromises (changing the meeting location
holding a winter meeting in the East, collaborating with usr-group) were
made out of consideration for the new Unix community. usr-group represents
that community. Unfortunately I have very little in common with the binary
only world. I guess that'll leave me out in the cold (probably skiing
in Vermont) in the near future. All in favor of a Unix boff at Salt Lake
during the DC meeting send mail to utah-cs!fjl. We'll talk about we're doing?
Put together a common kernel distribution (how many levels of #ifdef can cpp
handle)? Think up some new games? Try to get all our shell scripts down to
one liners? Heck, we could spend a day trying to convince everyone why they
should fix/break uucp*.
