The only way to reduce the cluster size on the AT&T 6300 (or Xerox 6064) is
to change over to PC-DOS 3.x (x>=1). The exact reasons for this are unclear
to me, but it boils down to the fact that MS-DOS 3.x will not support
the smaller cluster size. If you are worried about loosing features
of the 6300, the only thing that is lost is the auto time setting feature.
This is easily fixed by adding a line to your AUTOEXEC.BAT that calls
a simple program to read the internal clock. BTW Xerox sells PC-DOS 3.21
as an upgrade to AT&T(Xerox) DOS 3.1, and I think it comes with a clock
reading program.
