Hello! Recently, we 'acquired' 2 AT&T 3B2 computers, one being a 300 and one
being a 400. I've been working with both the 300 and 400 for a couple of
weeks now, and have run into a few problems.

First, on the 300. Its hard disk was in pretty bad shape, so I had to re-
format it & reinstall it from the boot set. Now, on disk we also have the
FP-C++ (or something to that effect) package. Note that the software around
here is probably old (we're running Unix V3.0, & the C compiler stuff seems
to be V3.x). Well, on the 300, all code made by the C compiler will not run.
In the manual it mentions the '-f' option, which is supposed to load FP
emulation code, and the '-F' option which is supposed to make things single-
precision. Neither of these options seem to make code that can run on the 300.
So, it appears that I don't have a C compiler for the 300. Can anyone help
me, either with what I'm doing wrong, or with a C Compiler which will work on
the 300?

Second, it appears that we don't have anything which will transfer a file
using a protocol of sorts. Does anyone have the binaries for kermit or
X/Y/Zmodem for the 3B2 machines? I'd obviously hope for something which runs
on a 300, but at this point I'll take anything. I tried compiling a version
of kermit that I have (after uploading it via cat 9-), but it doesn't seem to
work. It does, however, run (on the 400).

Third, is there an FTP site/binaries group/something where one can get PD
stuff for the 3B2 machines? I've only been reading the newsgroup for a few
days, so pardon me if this has been covered before.

					Thanks, <Mowgli>
