ranlib is not needed in System V

In our version of ar options d, m, r, and u imply option s.
Having options dmru imply option s means that doing
ar cr x.a x.o
ar cr x.a y.o
...
is *very slow*, since the symbol table gets rebuilt again and again.
ar crs x.a x.o y.o ...
is much faster. Explicitly showing option s makes the above line compatible
with standard System V.
