Hi,
just a general question in terms of protocols.
There is this threatening at the horizont that OSI protocols might take
over interconnections of different operating systems. The benefit
of versatile tools is currently unattactive because there
are so nice IP and other protocols around. Thus, we need to face
X.400 mail, and even ftam, in the not too far future.

Does anyone of SGI, or of its customers, know or use OSI protocols?

Is there a product available from SGI or a partner which implements OSI?

Is there a reliable SMTP/X.400 mailer gateway available somewhere for IRIX?

Do athers in your environment use OSI but cannot contact to SGI because
of the absence of an OSI implementation?

There is a need at our site to get answers to these questions within
a short time, because communication decisions have to be made.

Pointers, helps, hints, news and views velcome.

PS: Please forgive me the ISODE posting, but that is the only product
I could get hold of.

Regards
Reinhard
