SUMMARY: hpgl -> Postscript filter...

Last week, I asked information on where to get an HPGL to PostScript filter.
Many people responded to my request.

Thank you to all of them.

There is a number of versions of HPGL -> PS filters around, all called
"hpgl2ps", and all based on the same set of routines.

I have tried three of them:

  1. on uunet.uu.net, in directory comp.sources.misc/volume5:
          hpgl2ps-v2.Z  (dated 1989).

  2. on uunet.uu.net, in directory postscript: hpgl-ps.Z (dated 1987).

  3. on swedishchef.lerc.nasa.gov, in directory pub/programs:
                                           hpgl2ps.tar.Z (dated Feb 8).

There is also a X version (I have not tried it):

  1. on uunet.uu.net, comp.sources.x/volume4/xhpgl/hpgl-ps.Z


I have tried the first three, and found that the third one, from
swedishchef.lerc.nasa.gov was by far the best.  If you decide to get this
one as well, please send any modifications to Jeff Hanson as he is
working on that package  (his E-main is tohanson at gonzo.lerc.nasa.gov).

I was also told that Adobe has such filters...
