Possible screen problem

Dear Answer Lady,

A funny thing happened to me yesterday. I had just finished lp-ing a
file, when I found my screen and keyboard unresponding, and then I noticed
the beeper in the keyboard emitting white noise (or was it pink noise?).
Actually, it took me a good 5 minutes of creeping around to figure out where
the noise was coming from. On hitting "reset," the system tried to reboot,
but a screen message told me that the console and keyboard were not responding.

Powering down and up brought things back up uneventfully, but the screen seems
much bluer to me now; for example, the letters on wsh's black background
now appear bluish, where as they previously looked white (unless I'm kidding
myself), and the default background color seems to be a more garish blue. I
looked in SYSLOG, and there doesn't seem to be anything unusual there from the
time this happened. I also displayed the color wheel, and there didn't seem
to be any missing colors.

Also, a month ago I returned to my machine after being logged off for several
hours to discover everything dead, and the screen blanked by the screenblanker.
Again, powering on fixed things, and I could find no SYSLOG indication of
anything wrong.

So the question is: should I be concerned? I am under service contract,
but I hate to call the repairman in if it's not necessary.

I have a 4d-25tg with StereoView, running IRIX 3.2.1.

	Worried in NY,
	-P.
