There is an executable version of TeX (although not up-to-date) on
vgr.brl.mil. How about such a distribution of GNU EMACS, gdb, gcc,
kcl, and g++? Such executable distributions are very common for
VMS systems. It would be nice if SGI would put these executables
in sgi.com:~ftp/pub.

P.S. Does anyone have a ftp'able executable of the UNIX TeX 3.x
distribution? Even with a lot of network hints, I have not been
able to get the labrea version to pass the trip tests.
