DOS development environment on a Sun 386i?

We are looking at buying a Sun386i primarily for its ability to run DOS as
sub-task of Unix.

I would appreciate any comments on the suitability of this approach
(especially with regard to debugging Microsoft C, as we can never fit the
debugger and our application in 640K at the same time!).
