Thanks to all the folks that showed hands for palettetool. Now I am
posting it to the archive. Hope you will find it enjoyable.

>From the README:

Palettetool is a colormap manipulator for Sun users to create and edit
colormaps. It is originally written at Mountain View, Calif, by Sun
Microsystems.

This version of palettetool is based on the original source provided to
the author (hsc at vuse.vanderbilt.edu, !uunet!vuse!hsc) and has many added
features. (as a matter of fact, I used only the palette layout provided,
the rest of the tool was totally rewritten and redesigned.)

[[ My apologies for taking so long to get this out. Processing source is
taking a back-burner to other things right now. The shar file for
palettetool has been placed in the archives under "sun-source". It is
called "palettetool.shar" and is 38519 bytes long. It can be retrieved
via anonymous FTP from the host "titan.rice.edu" or via the archive
server. For more information about the archive server, send a mail
message containing the word "help" to the address
"archive-server at rice.edu". --wnl ]]
