NTSC vs. VHS, bandwidth differences

Don't forget that though broadcast standard NTSC TV supports 525 lines,
(or 625 lines PAL/SECAM in Europe), most VHS recorders only have bandwidth
for about 200 lines.  If you do decided to use a VHS recorder try looking
at the new S-VHS type, which give much higher resolution but are NOT
totally compatible with standard VHS recorders.  (You can play VHS tapes
on S-VHS machines, but not vice-versa).
