386i Users,

We've started to encounter a problem with CAPS lock while running certain
applications on a 386i. Particularly, word perfect running in a DOS
window (WP version 5.0), and also when running NeWS and Sunview at the
same time (note the keyboard LEDs flash when traversing a NeWS/Sunview
canvas border with the mouse). No matter what one does, it seems to be
impossible to get the machine out of CAPs mode. Sometimes pounding on the
Caps key will do it. This is not a hardware problem, as it happens on
multiple machines.

Also, another tid-bit. A user was having a problem when logging in,
getting the message:

"Password can not decrypt secret key for Unix.106 at YP.ppgbm3"

where 106 was the user's id and YP.ppgbm3 is the yp domain. So after
poking around in the yp master's /etc directory, looking for either the
user's name or id, I found a couple of suspicious entries in the file
"publickey". The two entries that matched two user's ids seemed to
causing the problem. Once removed, and yp re-made, no problem. Does
anyone know if this file is suppose to have anything in it if the net is
not running secure NFS? The two entries that are left in it are:

where bud is the yp master.

	Thanks (wishful thinking)
