After I remarked that talk doesn't seem to work between a 386i & 3/150 both running 4.0.1, Glenn Roberts replied: looks like the Sun 3 Version of talk is newer than the Sun386i version (see below). I may be running the Berkely 4.2 version? Doesn't give one much confidence in the quality control over the SunOS 4.0.1 distribution
