Given the usual perversity of manufacturers of peripherals, including SCSI
devices, I would be doubtful that you'll be able to just plug-and-play
unless the supplier of the floptical you intend to use has done some Sun
system integration with it.  The older Sun SCSI drivers and host adapter
(frequently mis-called a controller) are especially bad at getting along
with just any old SCSI device being attached.  I'd suggest you make sure
it works before you buy it.
