X11R4 problems on a SPARCstation-1 with GX board

We have X11R4 installed here and it runs without any problems on our
monochrome Sun4's and SPARCstations. However when we try to bring bring up
X11R4 on a SPARCstation with a GX board in it, the root window comes up
BUT it is shifted partyly off the screen (to the top-left) and any xterm's
positioned on the left edge of the screen are wrapped around.  Other than
that everything else seems to be ok.

All our Suns are running OS 4.0.3(c). 

Does anybody have X11R4 working on a SS-1 with GX board? Has anybody
experienced this problem before?

Any help would be appreciated.
