Sun format.dat file HP97548 parameters?

I have recently obtained some HP97548S/D SCSI drives that I intend to
connect to a SPARCstation. But I need to create a format.dat entry, since
none was included in Sun's standard format.dat. The main parameter I am
having problems with is bpt (bytes per track). This drive has 57 sectors
per track (56 for data and one spare). However, looking at other SCSI
drive entries in the file, the relationship between number of sectors and
bytes per sector isn't obvious. I'm wondering if I need to use some
number other than 512 bytes/sector.

Has anyone out there used these drives on a Sun, and have the right set of
parameters? I am getting some errors when I run format (trying to access
an illegal block) and I don't know if it is due to problems in my
format.dat entries or something else. Any info appreciated....
