Sources for Sparc chip.

I am looking to undertake a design using Sun's Sparc and need information
on where to get the chips.  I was told that Sun has another manufacturer
produce the chips, and that they have licensed the die to others.
Assuming this is true, is there more than one manufacturer producing the
dies?  Anybody know the real story?  Please reply via e-mail, I'm behind
on my news, I'll summarize responses.
