Hi There,
I was wondering if anyone out there has managed to get modem
callback to work on a Unix machine. What I am after is a program that can
be run instead of getty that will let a use log in then call him back and
correctly exec a login task. I have a Sun 4/490 and a DECStation 500/200
which I am trying to make this work on.
While I am at it. Anyone out there ever get a Hayes V-Series 9600
baud modem into a state where no matter what I do the 'TR' light just won't
come on.
I think some bozo messed up the settings. No matter what I type I
can see the 'SD' light blink but I never get echo and it never seems to do
anything different. I had an old 1200 baud modem that I hooked up to the
same line and the TR light came on so I know the port is raising the
signal.
Any and all help appreciated. Please send mail as I don't get to
read news as much as I'd like.
