Does AIX on RS/6000s have the necessary programs to format and install
third party hard drives? If so, what is the procedure.

	   Thanks!

There shouldn't be any problems installing 'third party h-disks'. 1st) Just
plug in the SCSI cables (they are standard) in case of model 7012-320
and higher. 2nd) 'Dip in' the right scsi address. 3rd) Power the
system up and use SMIT to format (if necessary) the disk and to make a
file system on it etc...
