According to the IBM February 15 announcements:

"...[AIX Version 3] conforms to the IEEE 1003.1 -- 1988 standard
for a Portable Operating System for Computer Environments (POSIX)."

	"Language Standards/Specifications

	   - Draft ANSI C Standard, Document Number X3J11/88-159,
dated December 1988, as interpreted by IBM on June 9, 1989.

	   - XL C Compiler implementation for IBM RISC System/6000
systems complies with the SAA C level 2 definition, with
some exceptions. The exceptions are specified in the XL C
	     Compiler User's Guide (SC09-1259)."
