AIX device configuration

Hi,
   I'm writing some "methods" (define, configure, etc) for a device driver
on an RS6000 running AIX 3.1 9021. I've been reading info and the supplied
samples and have been going in circles. The problem is that the device
driver does not fit nicely into any of the examples. To elucidate:
	The driver has 3 kernel extensions,
	it has 2 special files
	it has one entry point (ddconfig)
	it is a communications device using the x25 adaptor and ethernet
		interface.
My brain has become fried trying to work out what I should put in the
predefined and customised databases. I would be extremely grateful for any
suggestions.
