nslookup on 1.1

Anyone having problems with nslookup on A/UX 1.1?  Seems to be in the 
resolver code.  Nslookup works if I explicitly give it the domain and
server interactively, but not through /etc/resolv.conf or command line?
As a default it uses the local hostname as the server and IP addr of
0.0.0.0.  Name lookups for "rlogin" also fail to access the server.
Something I'm missing?
