HELP! News wont work!!

I've just copied over the file rn.44.tar.Z from uunet.uu.net and
am trying to get this version of news working under SCO Xenix 2.3.2

How do I go about getting it working?? None of the files (Configure,
Makefile.SH, etc) have any mention of SCO Xenix in them? 

Unfortunatly, SCO does not distribute the source code with the news
software that they give out. Any help would be appreciated.
