login files-- examples please?

Could someone please post a sample of what is the equivallent of a 
VAX/VMS login.com?  I have just received an account on an Ultrix workstation
and would like to customize my login file.  I am VERY new to Ultrix and have
only figured out how to set the prompt.  I would also appreciate a VERY well
documented version so that I can know exactly what I am doing with each step
so I can further customize my login file later.
