Systems Industries controler?

I would be very interested in hearing from anyone who is using a Systems
Industries 6100 controler and Fujitsu drives on a VAX750.  We are running
4.1bsd Berkley UNIX using the up.c and have had many nagging problems with
the combination for months.  It has been suggested that the controler is
the problem.  Is there anyone who can speak from experience on this subject?
