sdb still cannot set breakpoints

Well, my crowing over the fix to my problem
of sdb not being able to set breakpoints was
a little premature. I was able to set break-
points in all my procedures except one (naturally
it was the one that I needed). I just changed
one variable index from a 1 to a 2, recompiled,
and now I can't set ANY breakpoints ANYWHERE.

I am starting to suspect a system problem.
shark!jimv wrote me to say that the same thing
had happened to him (on 4.2BSD, though), he
had ported the thing to another machine, run
the debugger on it, and it worked fine. The
binaries on the two machines compared identical.
After the first system was rebooted, his problem
went away.

We have been having disk problems, as most of
you know. We have taken to considering the
BAD FREE LIST harmless and only reboot about
once a week. We have not rebooted since this
problem cropped up, so I am going to ask my SA
to do so. If anyone can shed some light on this,
please let me know. If the reboot helps, I will
report it here.

He gave the novice a long, icy stare and quietly growled, "RTFM".
