Ultrastore ESDI controller compatibility

I has been offered to buy a ESDI HD/controller combination which includes
the Ultrastore 12F ESDI caching controller.

Q:
- Is it compatible with XENIX and other UNIX?
- Has anybody ever tried the controller with XENIX?
