Shell barf

I'm stumped on a wierd problem that just recently started cropping
up (when I upgraded to XENIX 2.3.2, in fact). WHenever I execute
a shell script (/bin/sh, not /bin/csh), I get a "shell memory fault"
error. Not every time, just 8 out of 10 times. The script is not
executed. In fact, I can provoke the same fault by executing
"sh" directly from the csh command line. I have checked my memory
usage with vmstat and there doesn't seem to be an inordinate amount
of page faults or anything else out of the ordinary. This error
occurs when I am the super user or a regular user. One point to note
is that all returns to normal when I reboot the system. Any help would
be appreciated.
