I have a similar problem with a Compaq brand CGA card & monochrome monitor.
It started after I installed Upgrade A. The boot prompt is in high resolution
but the boot screen, hardware info, comes up in low resolution and stays that
way. This has been an open problem with SCO since Sept 7, 1989. This used to
happen only when executing VP/ix and could be fixed with the Xenix command
"stty B80x25" while in VP/ix or after returning to Xenix. Would appreciate
hearing if anyone has solved this problem.
