Screens, more screens, never enough

OK, I give up. Maybe I'm stupid but I can't make multiscreen
work with a serial console on SCO UNIX 3.2. The FM's I have 
read are the sysadm guide, and the HW section on screen. It
nowhere says that you actually _can't_ do this, but this is
what I suspect. Given the alternative (shell layers) I would
be much happier with multiscreens.
