UTS - Amdahl's flavor of Unix(tm-AT&T Bell Labs) for Amdahl compatible CPU's

The Amdahl Universal Timesharing System (UTS) constutes a conversion and
an extension of the Unix Timesharing System for operation on an Amdahl 470
or 580 computing system or Amdahl 470 compatible processor.

The sentence above was quoted directly from the UTS Technical Overview
manual.

The current release is based on Version 7. The next release, due out 
shortly, will be based on System V.

If you need a Unix system that can support hundreds of users at the same
time, heavy number-crunching (thousands of Whetstones per second), or
hundreds of Fujitsu Eagle-type disks (300+ or 600+ megabytes per spindle),
you will be interested in this system.

BTW, for example, IBM System 370's are Amdahl 470 compatible processors.
