getting uucp running between xenix machines

[Hesh]

i've been working on a machine (a molecular series 12)
running xenix 3.0f and can't seem to get uucp running.
uucp does run from this xenix machine to a 4.2bsd machine,
but not to another xenix machine!  has anybody had any success?
i'll send some debug output to anybody who is interested.
