All,
Before we get into a heated Mouse/Keyboard debate, gimme a chance to
climb inside my asbestos-lined suit.... ;-)

I use Aztec C, and use Z to edit files, and Edit just to format/print
them in a nice manner.. I can't stand the mouse, but that is just me. I have
a hard enough time typing without having to move my hands off F/J ! And while
the ESC key may move from PC to Mac to HP terminal, it is still a lot closer
than the mouse. And since I never have any desk space, the mouse is sometimes
a hassle. And I haven't gotten a tracball yet, so I can't compare.
BUT (and a very BIG BUT), as it has already been stated - it is a
matter of personal preference. I learned "vi" many years ago, and can do those
wierd xformations to center-screen the current line, transpose words, and yank
entire paragraphs from file to file without a thought. But it has taken years
to learn that. I would suppose a person who grew up on a Mac couldn't deal
with an editor where you don't see the commands you are about to execute.
I would be interested in seeing a survey of people who have both Mac
and Unix experience, and what percentage of them prefer their old system over
the newer one.. Any bets most people (>70%) would prefer their "older"
system?? Anyone already do this, I'd be interested in the results...
