AT&T Keyboard fix for 6300+

There have been a number of recent postings in these newgroups regarding
the interchange of the CAPS LOCK and CONTROL keys on the AT&T 6300+. I
posted a fix some number of months back on how to change the EPROM in the
Model 302 keyboard (the one with the function keys across the top, mostly
used on the 6300+). I've even had some requests for a copy of the EPROM
which of course I really can't provide. But, here are the instructions
that you can follow (providing you have access to a 2716 EPROM and
an EPROM programmer) to make your keys change places:

1) Turn the keyboard over and remove the three screws along the back side.
*CAREFULLY* disengage the clips across the from side of the keyboard
and remove the bottom of the keyboard.

2) Locate the EPROM. If your keyboard does not have an EPROM (some new
ones won't), replace the keyboard bottom and give up.

3) Carefully remove the EPROM, noting its current orientation. Make sure
that the version of the software is "PDBQ R.11" of equivalent. Some
older versions may work, but there is no guarantee.

4) Load a copy of the contents of the original EPROM into an EPROM
programmer. Using the EDIT mode of the programmer, change the following
   locations:

	Address Old Contents	New Contents
	=======		============	============
	 $037B $3A $1D
	 $037C $1D $3A

5) Program this into the new EPROM. When complete, insert this new EPROM
into the socket in the keyboard and re-assemble the keyboard.

After you have re-assembled the keyboard, try it out... The control key
should activate the caps lock function (including lighting the caps lock
LED), and the caps lock key should provide the control key functionality.

*** NOTE *** No warantee is provided, expressed or implied. If you fry
your keyboard, I *really* don't want to hear about it. But, if you take
you time and follow the instructions, you shouldn't have any problems.
